Inktober 2017, Day 1
My first inktober ever, I will be revisiting my comics/drawings since I was 12 until present day...and to begin nothing better that an evil alien robot from outer space!
Inktober 2017, Day 2
In 1989 I created a character extremely based on Cobra and the terminator called “the pursuer”, well this is the 2017 version
Inktober 2017, Day 4
In 1991 I imagined a surreal world in a short comic story named “macro cosmos”, very influenced by one my heroes, Jean-Moebius-Giraud
Inktober 2017, Day 5
A mini comic i created in 1992 about the inner demons...getting there with inktober!!
Inktober 2017, Day 6
I’m a big fan of Juan Gimenez, In 1993 I created a comic influenced by his stunning work
Inktober 2017, day 7
This one is based in a short comic I drew in 1993 named “No future”, It was about a group of soldiers facing a final battle with a group of rebels hidden in a tower...and the horrible secret they were about to discover
Inktober 2017, day 8
I drew a comic book in manga style once, I realized it wasn’t my thing but I had fun doing it
Inktober 2017, Day 9
Based on a short comic book I drew in 1994 called ”alleys”, This one was about 2 guys in a dystopian future collecting dead bodies left by a brutal police enforcement
Inktober 2017, Day 10
This one is inspired by a comic book I published in the fanzine “Orgasmatron” in 1996, “The fight within” was about inner demons and all that jazz…
Inktober 2017, Day 12
I love vampires, there was a time when I drew them obsessively, Nosferatu (1922) is to me one of the greatest vampire films ever mad so here is my humble homage to F. W. Murnau
Inktober 2017, Day 13
“Utopia” was the name of this character created by my great friend Cristian Melian in 1996. Utopia was a disabled person in a super hi-tech armour fighting the crime in the streets of Santiago unfortunately we never produced one single page, only tons of sketches and a couple of illustrations
Inktober 2017, Day 14
This character was co-created with my great friend Cristian Melian. “El Penitente” (The penitent) was born circa 1997, it was a lost soul looking for redemption, physically based in the Catholic cemetery of Santiago de Chile, a place located in the same neighbourhood where we grew up. We did several short stories and also invited friends to collaborate but, for different reasons, we never got it printed. Internet was not that massive 20 years ago either, so the options wer
Inktober 2017, Day 15
This is based on a comic that I called “infinite journey”, and it was my new age stage back in 1999. It took me months to complete the 16 pages, there was no dialogue but I was really proud of the result, it had a professional look I did not see in my drawings before. The story was about a character travelling through different realities, jumping from impossible words in a dramatic succession of events, based in several dreams I had at the time , like a nightmare that never ends
Inktober 2017, Day 16
El penitente (The Penitent) again…I drew a 24 pages story called La Profanacion” (The profanation) written by Cristian Melian…The story was about a group of kids playing with dark magic in the cemetery, awakening ancestral forces that wanted to destroy our world…The penitent saves the day by unveiling his inner strength.
Inktober 2017, Day 17
In 2002 I participated in a collective project called “Cadaver Exquisito” (Exquisite corpse) It all started with one artist creating page 1, with the characters and storyline, after that each collaborator must continue the story line (or not) using the same characters or integrating new ones, the method was quite open anyway. I did a few pages, and the last one was about the main character finding out “the root of all evil”, Good memories of the Ergocomic forum back in the day
Inktober 2017, Day 18
Antonio Lobos asked me to illustrate some of his beautiful writing back in 2003. "Lobohombre” (Man-wolf instead of werewolf) was very inspiring and meaningful. I wonder how this troubled man-wolf would fit in the world today…well this is my 2017 version!
Inktober 2017, Day 19
In 2005 I published a story called “El Portal ” (The Portal) in the Chilean zine “Tinta Negra” (literally "Black Ink"). It was about three teens messing around with darks forces and ancient Aztec gods, all this happening at midnight at the “Cementerio General” the largest cemetery in Santiago. Nothing good came out of it for the teens, of course.
Inktober 2017, Day 20
Virgen Interruptus, a crazy story about the Virgin Mary statue from San Cristobal hill that comes to life for a curious reason and Yelson, Lomax and Aldo must stop her at any cost. Published in the zine Informe Meteoro Number 4 in 2005
Inktober 2017, Day 21
Another "Informe Meteoro”, based in a short story I did back in 2006…Luchoca, Aldo, Yelson and Lomax are back!! My humble homage to one of the greatest sci-films I’ve seen in recent years,
Inktober 2017, Day 23
A trilogy based on a comic I drew in 1999…and I’m seriously considering to re do in 2017/2018, seriously, this is 1 of 3 of “infinity"
Inktober 2017, Day 24
Part 2 of the trilogy I’m doing of “infinity”…the character has now approached the portal, willing to cross it and discover what lies on the other side.
Inktober 2017, Day 25
Part 3 of the trilogy “infinity”…our character has started an infinite journey across parallel universes and multiple dimensions
Inktober 2017, Day 26
Ancestral is the name of an attempt of graphic novel that was the final major for my degree in illustration...the story is about a lonely character living in Edinburgh in 2097 and his quest to save the world and understand what it means to be human
